This is the first studio album documenting the hugely influential trio featuring the great bassist Scott La Faro, with Paul Motian on drums. Coming after Evans' stint with the Miles Davis band, the selections include "Blue in Green", from the legendary "Kind Of Blue" album, which some attribute to both Davis and Evans, but they play mostly standards here ("Autumn Leaves", "Come Rain or Come Shine", Witchcraft", "When I Fall In Love", "Someday My Prince Will Come", "Spring Is Here") as well as jazz originals (the aforementioned "Blue in Green", Evans's "Peri's Scope"). This was my initial introduction to Evans trio music, and boy, was I hooked!
