This is the second album documenting the legendary Village Vanguard engagement which was the late great bassist Scott La Faro's final recording with this great trio. Paul Motian on drums completes the line-up of this influential trio, which inspires jazz players to this very day Playing mostly standards ("My Foolish Heart", "My Romance") as well as jazz originals ("Milestones", "Detour Ahead"), this group set the benchmark for jazz piano trio music. This and the following album listings are from my own personal record collection, which I have since mostly replaced with the CD versions. Hence the sale of these much-loved albums. The vinyl album is in good condition, with a few scuff marks and spindle marks, but at nearly 48 years of age, some surface noise is inevitable. The cover is in reasonable condition for a Riverside, which were notoriously non-durable, this one with only a few slight wear signs at the edges. An ideal companion for "Sunday At The Village Vanguard"
